Overview

If you find yourself wandering through Plaza Indonesia’s bustling basement level, a small yet inviting spot awaits—Bánh Mì Ngon. This Vietnamese eatery channels the essence of Vietnam’s beloved street food into a refined urban setting. Though compact in size, the space exudes coziness, making it an ideal pit stop for those craving authentic flavors with a modern twist.

The highlight here is undoubtedly the Lemongrass Beef Bánh Mì. The baguette arrives warm and crisp, striking a perfect balance between a light, airy crumb and a satisfying crunch. Inside, the lemongrass-infused beef melds beautifully with fresh herbs like cilantro, mint, and possibly hints of Thai basil, creating a bright and aromatic profile. This harmony of textures and flavors elevates the classic bánh mì experience, delivering both refreshment and substance. Pairing this with their Cold Vietnamese Drip Coffee offers a bracing complement: bold, rich, and authentically brewed, it awakens the palate while staying true to its cultural roots.

While the space is best suited for those who don’t mind a cozy atmosphere, the attentive and friendly service enhances the visit. For lunch hour, a little timing finesse helps avoid the limited seating crunch. For patrons seeking a heartier, comforting option, the Phở here is also worth mention. The broth is deeply satisfying, with tender cuts of rib-eye, brisket, and meatballs that speak to a slow-simmered, well-crafted recipe.

Located in the heart of Jakarta’s CBD, Bánh Mì Ngon caters to urban professionals and culinary explorers who appreciate authentic Vietnamese flavors presented with care. It’s a polished stop offering a tasteful escape from the city tempo, whether you’re after a quick, flavorful bite or a comforting bowl of pho. Although pricing reflects its premium mall location, the quality and experience resonate well with its discerning audience.

In sum, Bánh Mì Ngon serves up a sincere taste of Vietnam — concise in concept, rich in layer, and perfect for when you want your bánh mì and phở served with thoughtful precision inside Plaza Indonesia.

Newest tenant in Plaza Indonesia LB Floor (just opened on 28 July 2024), serving mainly banh mi, pho and other Vietnamese snacks. Their other branches are called Bánh mì oi, but for this one they decided to use different name. Ngon in Vietnamese means 'tasty', so I suppose this is what they aspire to serve. I ordered Lemongrass Beef bánh mì as the server said this is the best seller menu, accompanied with cold Vietnamese coffee (drip coffee). The baguette is perfect — the inside is pillowy, crunchy, and crisp, with enough filling. The ratio of meat and greens is just perfectly balanced. The coffee is also quite strong, just like a Vietnam drip should. Price wise it's pretty pricey though, 3-4x times of what you get from the roadside hawkers in , or 1.5x of banh mi in other places, but this is Plaza Indonesia. Quite a ballsy move I must say. Would recommend this if you want proper banh mi and price isn't a concern for you. As this is still their opening month, they still have a 15% discount if you order a la carte, so catch it and give your verdict. Will probably go back and try their phở next time.

A delightful bite of Vietnam tucked beneath the city buzz. The Banh Mi Beef surprises with its incredibly fresh baguette — warm, crisp, and joyful to bite. Inside, a dance of cilantro, mint, and (perhaps) Thai basil keeps it fresh and aromatic. But the beef? A little shy on flavor — either too little, or too light. Still, the herb-forward experience makes it worth a try. Seating? Limited — best to avoid peak lunch hours for comfort. Service? Quick and polite A great stop for a flavorful pause — just time it right.

Tried the beef lemongrass banh mi at their pop-up in Tiembi and it was pretty good. The filling tasted fresh and the bread was crisp, but a little thin and hollow. Loved the fried spring rolls more.

All is good! Never imagine such a small area serves good meal. Comforting and not pricey. Pho is good, banh mi is awesome, spring rolls are tasty and sauces are great! Will come again for next visit.

The place is not that big, behind the wall pillars there are still seats. You can still enjoy the warm Vietnamese Pho cuisine with its delicious taste. There are still other menu options, such as: Spring Roll, Broken Rice, etc. The service is okay, friendly. The guests also take turns, because the place is a bit limited. Just be aware, take turns .. !!
